A kink list is a menu of things adults enjoy in bed beyond the basics, and a kink checklist is that menu turned into a yes/no/maybe sheet you can fill out alone or with a partner. This page gives you both. Below you’ll find more than 100 types of kinks from A to Z, each explained in a line or two, followed by a printable kink checklist and a section on trying any of them out first in private AI roleplay. Everything here is between consenting adults.
Key Takeaways
- A kink is any sexual interest outside “vanilla” sex. A fetish is a stronger, more specific attraction, usually to an object or body part. Our guide to what kink is covers the difference in more depth.
- The most common kinks are bondage, spanking, dominance and submission, roleplay, dirty talk, praise, degradation, voyeurism and exhibitionism.
- The fastest way to find out what you’re into is a yes/no/maybe kink checklist. Fill it out honestly, then compare it with a partner’s.
- Negotiation, a safeword and aftercare are what make kink work, whether it’s a light spanking or a full scene.
- If you want to test a fantasy before bringing it to a partner, AI roleplay lets you play it out in private. Meet our AI girls and start free.

The A-Z Kink List
This list of kinks runs alphabetically. Some are mild enough to try tonight, others need practice and a careful talk first. Where something carries real physical risk, we say so.
A
- Anal play: anything from a finger or plug to full anal sex. Lots of lube, going slow and relaxing are what make it good.
- Armpit fetish: attraction to armpits, including their scent, and kissing or licking them.
- Audio erotica: getting turned on by voices, moans and spoken stories. Voice notes and erotic audio are the easy way in.
- Authority roleplay: scenes built around a power gap between adults, such as boss and employee, officer and suspect or landlord and tenant.
B
- Biting: nibbles to firm bites on the neck, shoulders or thighs. Avoid the throat and anywhere a bruise would be a problem.
- Blindfolds: taking away sight so every touch lands harder. One of the best first kinks to try.
- Body worship: lavishing attention on a partner’s whole body or one part of it, with kisses, massage and praise.
- Bondage: restraining a partner with cuffs, rope, tape or straps. Keep safety shears nearby and check circulation.
- Boot and shoe worship: kissing, licking or serving a partner’s boots or heels, usually inside a femdom dynamic.
- Brat taming: a submissive “brat” pushes back and teases, and the dominant puts them in their place. Playful and fun.
- Breast play: focusing on breasts and nipples, from gentle sucking to clamps and slaps.
- Breath play: restricting air or pressure on the neck. This is the riskiest item on this list, because injury can happen fast and without warning. Read our guide to choking during sex before you go near it.
C
- Chastity: a partner wears a locking cage or belt and only the keyholder decides when it comes off.
- CNC (consensual non-consent): a pre-negotiated roleplay where adults agree in advance to act out a scene in which one partner pretends to resist. The consent is real, and the safeword always works. See what CNC means in a relationship.
- Collaring: wearing a collar as a symbol of a D/s relationship, either during play or day to day.
- Corsetry: the look and feel of tight-laced corsets, worn or watched.
- Crossdressing: wearing clothes usually associated with another gender, for arousal, play or comfort.
- Cuckolding: one partner gets off on the other being with someone else, with full knowledge and consent. Many people explore it first in cuck chat before any real meetup.
- Cuckqueaning: the same fantasy with the roles reversed, where she watches or hears about her partner with another woman.
- Cum play: focusing on where it lands, swallowing, facials or sharing.
D
- Degradation: being called names or treated as less than, by agreement. The words are negotiated in advance and so are the ones that are off limits.
- Dirty talk: describing what you want, what you’re doing or what you’ll do next. The most common kink there is. Practice with dirty talk AI if you freeze up.
- Discipline: rules, tasks and punishments inside a power exchange.
- Dom/sub (D/s): one partner dominates and the other submits, for a scene or as an ongoing dynamic. Our guide to dominant sex explains the basics.
- Double penetration: two partners, or a partner and a toy, at once.
E
- Edge play: a catch-all for higher-risk kinks such as knife play or fire play that need training and trust.
- Edging: bringing someone right to the brink and backing off, again and again, before letting them finish.
- Electro play: mild electric stimulation with toys designed for it, such as TENS units or violet wands. Never above the waist with DIY gear.
- Erotic hypnosis: trance and suggestion play, with triggers and limits agreed while both people are fully alert.
- Exhibitionism: getting off on being seen, from sexy photos to playing where people who have opted in can watch, such as at a club.
F
- Face sitting: one partner sits on the other’s face for oral. Also called queening.
- Feet (foot fetish): the most common body-part fetish. Foot worship, massage, footjobs and shoes all fall here.
- Femdom: female domination, where she takes the lead. Read what femdom is or try femdom AI chat.
- Financial domination (findom): a submissive gets off on sending money to, or being controlled financially by, a dominant.
- Fisting: inserting a whole hand, slowly and with plenty of lube and patience.
- Food play: whipped cream, chocolate and fruit on bodies. Keep sugar away from genitals.
- Forced orgasms: being made to come over and over, usually while restrained, often with a wand.
- Free use: a standing agreement between adult partners that one is available for sex at agreed times, with no asking needed. The terms and a safeword still apply.
G
- Gags: ball gags, bit gags or a hand over the mouth. Agree on a non-verbal safe signal first.
- Group sex: threesomes, foursomes, orgies and gangbangs.
- Glove fetish: attraction to leather, latex or satin gloves and how they feel on skin.
H
- Hair pulling: a firm grip at the base of the hair, close to the scalp, not a yank on the ends.
- Hotwifing: a wife sleeps with other men with her partner’s blessing, usually without the humiliation side of cuckolding.
- Humiliation: embarrassment as a turn-on, from mild teasing to public-feeling scenarios that stay private. Close cousin of degradation. See our full guide to the humiliation kink.
I
- Ice play: ice cubes traced over hot skin, often combined with blindfolds or wax.
- Impact play: any striking for pleasure, including spanking, paddles, floggers, crops and canes. Stick to fleshy areas and avoid the kidneys and spine.
J
- JOI (jerk-off instruction): being told exactly how, how fast and when to touch yourself. Works well over chat, voice or video.
K
- Kinbaku: the Japanese art of rope bondage, where the tying itself is part of the scene. Also called shibari.
- Kissing: making kissing the main event, slow and long, everywhere.
L
- Latex and rubber: the shine, tightness and smell of latex catsuits, gloves and sheets.
- Leather: harnesses, jackets, cuffs and boots, and the power that comes with them.
- Leg fetish: long legs, thighs and calves, often in heels or stockings.
- Lingerie: the build-up of lace, garters and stockings, sometimes more than what’s underneath.
M
- Masks: anonymity and mystery, from a masquerade mask to a full hood.
- Masochism: enjoying receiving pain. The partner of sadism.
- Medical play: doctor and nurse roleplay between adults, from a costume exam to speculums and gloves.
- Messy play (sploshing): getting covered in food, slime or paint for fun and arousal.
- Mirror sex: watching yourselves while you do it.
- Mutual masturbation: touching yourselves side by side or on a video call.
N
- Nipple play: pinching, sucking, clamps and suction toys.
- Nylons and pantyhose: attraction to sheer hosiery and how it looks and feels.
O
- Objectification: being treated as a thing, such as furniture, a toy or a display piece, by agreement.
- Orgasm control and denial: the dominant decides if and when the submissive gets to come. Pairs well with chastity and edging.
- Outdoor sex: the thrill of open air on private land, a secluded spot or a balcony at night.
- Overstimulation: keep going after they’ve finished, and push past sensitive into the next one.
P
- Pain play: pain as part of pleasure, from scratching and biting to clamps and canes.
- Pegging: a woman penetrates her male partner with a strap-on.
- Pleasure dom: a dominant whose goal is to overwhelm their partner with pleasure, not pain. See what a pleasure dom is.
- Power exchange: any agreed shift of control from one partner to the other. The root of most BDSM.
- Praise kink: getting turned on by being told you did well. “Good girl” and “good boy” are the classic lines, said to adult partners. Here are some tips for praise kink play.
- Primal play: instinct over technique, with growling, wrestling, chasing and pinning between consenting adults.
Q
- Queening: face sitting with a dominant twist, where she controls the pace. Keep breathing room.
R
- Restraints: cuffs, under-bed straps, spreader bars and the ease of velcro.
- Roleplay: playing characters, such as strangers at a bar, a maid and her employer or a pirate captain and a noblewoman, with every character an adult. Our guide to roleplay AI chatbots covers doing this with AI.
- Rope bondage: decorative or restrictive ties with soft rope. Learn a few safe knots first.
- Rough sex: hard, fast and physical, with pinning, grabbing and slapping, all inside agreed limits.
S
- Sadism: enjoying giving pain to a willing partner.
- Sensation play: feathers, fur, pinwheels, scratching and anything else that plays with touch.
- Sensory deprivation: blindfolds, earplugs and hoods to strip away the senses so touch takes over.
- Service submission: getting satisfaction from serving, such as cooking, massages, chores or pleasing on command.
- Size difference: attraction to a big height or build gap between adult partners.
- Spanking: the classic gateway kink, with an open hand on the bottom. Warm up before you hit hard.
- Squirting: chasing and enjoying female ejaculation. A towel helps.
- Stockings: thigh-highs, garters and the gap of skin above them.
- Submission: enjoying giving up control. Even the vocabulary has layers, as our piece on the meaning of submissive shows.
- Switching: enjoying both the dominant and the submissive role, depending on the day or the partner.
T
- Tease and denial: prolonged teasing with no release, often for days, sometimes over chat.
- Temperature play: hot and cold contrasts using wax, ice, warmed glass toys or chilled metal.
- Threesomes: the most common group fantasy, whether MFF, MMF or any other mix.
- Tickling: tickle torture, usually with restraints. Its formal name is knismolagnia.
- Toys: vibrators, plugs, wands and remote-controlled toys that can be handed to someone else’s control.
U
- Uniforms: nurse, police, military, flight attendant or maid outfits on adult partners.
- Underwear fetish: attraction to panties or briefs, worn, shown or kept.
V
- Vibrator play: using a wand or a remote toy as the main event, often with control handed over.
- Voyeurism: getting off on watching others, such as a partner, a couple who invited you or performers on cam. Only people who know they’re being watched.
W
- Watersports: pee play, from watching to being peed on. Keep it external and stay hydrated.
- Wax play: dripping low-temperature candle wax onto skin. Use candles made for it, not household ones.
- Whipping and flogging: rhythmic strikes with a flogger or single-tail. Learn your aim on a pillow first.
- Wrestling: erotic wrestling or play fighting where the winner gets to choose what happens next.
Y and Z
- Yoni massage: a slow, tantric-style massage focused on her pleasure, with no goal of orgasm.
- Zentai: full-body spandex or lycra suits that cover everything, including the face.
Not on this list, on purpose: we don’t cover anything involving minors or youth-themed age play, incest, animals, real people or genuine non-consent. Those aren’t kinks, and they’re off limits on NewGirlfriend too.

The Printable Kink Checklist (Yes / No / Maybe)
A kink checklist turns the list above into something you can actually use. Print this page (Ctrl+P or Cmd+P) and mark each line: Yes means you want it, No means a hard limit, and Maybe means you’re curious but want to talk first. Use the last column for giving, receiving or both. If you’re doing this with a partner, fill out separate copies and compare them afterwards. Wherever you both said yes or maybe is your shortlist.

Add your own rows at the bottom. A kink survey or kink quiz online works the same way, but a printed checklist is private, and you can take it into the conversation with you.
How to Use a Kink List With a Partner
- Fill out the checklist separately. Don’t peek at each other’s answers. You want honest answers, not answers that match.
- Compare the yeses first. Start with what you both want. It’s the easy win and it builds momentum.
- Talk through the maybes. Ask what would make a maybe a yes: a lighter version, a safeword, trying it in roleplay first.
- Respect the noes. A no on the list is a hard limit. No need to explain it, and no need to ask twice.
- Pick a safeword. “Red” to stop and “yellow” to slow down is the standard. Use a hand signal if anyone’s mouth will be busy.
- Plan aftercare. Water, a blanket, cuddling, a debrief the next day. Intense scenes can bring a drop afterwards, and aftercare helps.
- Revisit it. Tastes change. Redo the checklist every few months.
Kink vs. Fetish: The Short Version
A kink is something you enjoy that sits outside conventional sex, like being tied up or spanked. A fetish is a specific attraction, usually to an object, material or body part, that becomes central to arousal. Feet, latex and stockings are classic fetishes. Most people have a few kinks, while fewer have a true fetish. In practice, a list of kinks and fetishes overlaps heavily, which is why we’ve combined them above. For a deeper explanation, see our guide to kink vs fetish.
Explore Your Kinks Safely With AI Roleplay
Plenty of people have a maybe on their list that they’re not ready to say out loud. That’s where AI roleplay fits. On NewGirlfriend you can play out a scenario from this kink list with an AI girl in private chat before you ever bring it to a partner, or just enjoy it for its own sake.
- Try it before you ask for it. Find out whether degradation, praise, femdom or a CNC scene actually works for you in a story you control.
- You set the limits. Tell her your yeses and noes at the start, and change direction whenever you want. There’s no awkward conversation if a scene doesn’t land.
- She stays in character. Each AI girl has her own personality, look and backstory, and she plays dominant, submissive or bratty depending on who you pick and what you ask for. For more platforms, see our list of the best NSFW AI chat sites.
- Private by default. Chats are private, billing is discreet and nothing shows up on your statement as an adult merchant.
- Adults only. Every character is a fictional adult, and everything on this page’s “not on this list” line is off limits there too.
Some good first scenes: a dominant woman who sets the rules and makes you earn her praise (see our femdom games guide), a strict boss who catches you slacking, a hotwife who tells you everything about her night, or a negotiated CNC scene with your safeword set before you start. If you want something less structured, our guide to AI sex chat explains how explicit chat with an AI girl works.
A free account comes with 10 starter tokens, so you can try any girl before you pay. Plans start at $4.99 a month.

Kink List FAQs
What is a kink list?
A kink list is a list of sexual interests outside vanilla sex, such as bondage, spanking, roleplay or foot play, usually with a short explanation of each. People use it to discover new interests and to put words to ones they already have.
What is a kink checklist?
A kink checklist is a kink list you fill in. You mark each kink yes, no or maybe, and often whether you’d like to give, receive or both. Partners fill out separate copies and compare them to find what they both want to try.
What are the most common kinks?
Surveys consistently put bondage, spanking, dominance and submission, roleplay, dirty talk, group sex fantasies, voyeurism and exhibitionism near the top. Foot fetishes are the most common body-part fetish.
How do I find out what my kinks are?
Read through a list of kinks and notice what gets a reaction, then fill out a yes/no/maybe checklist. Paying attention to what you search for, read or fantasize about helps too. AI roleplay is a private way to test a maybe before you try it with a partner.
How many types of kinks are there?
There’s no fixed number. Some lists run to 400 or more by splitting every variation. This page covers more than 100 of the most common types of kinks and fetishes, grouped into nine families.
Is it normal to have kinks?
Yes. Kinky fantasies are extremely common, and consensual kink between adults is a normal part of sexuality. Having a fantasy doesn’t mean you have to act on it.
Can I explore kinks with an AI girlfriend?
Yes. On NewGirlfriend you can roleplay most of the kinks on this list with a fictional adult AI girl in private chat, set your own limits and change direction any time. It’s free to start with 10 tokens.
